Natural Calamity or Disaster in Bangladesh.


Flood, cyclone, drought hill slide etc. are belonged to natural calamities. In recent years, nature calamities have become more frequent because of climate change all over the world. Bangladesh has to face many natural calamities.  Natural calamity means natural occurrence.
Bangladesh is very prone to natural calamities. Every year some common natural calamities visit Bangladesh. These are floods, cyclones, tidal bores, excessive rainfall and droughts etc.
There are some reasons behind natural calamities of Bangladesh. Her peculiar geographical positions is one of the main causes of it. On the other side, environmental pollution and global warning around the world have made Bangladesh a victim of natural calamities.
Natural calamities cause heavy losses in Bangladesh. Many people die and many others become homeless. Loss of property is also immeasurable. Besides, diseases and famine as after effects of calamities cause untold sufferings to people. In 2007, the two consecutive floods and the dreadful cyclone, 'Sidr' devastated lives and properties in huge amount in Bangladesh. According to the World Bank report, the amount of losses in the two floods and the 'Sidr' is about 21 thousand crore taka.
