Many ethnic peoples live in Bangladesh. Specially, they live in hill track area. Bangladesh is the dwelling place of at least 35 ethnic groups of people. They cover about tow percent of our total population. These groups include Mandi, Hajong, Monipuri, Mogh, Chakma, Garo, Khasia, Tripura, Marma, Rakhain, Mru, Tanchyanga, Murong, Santal, Rajbangshi etc. The majority of this people live in Chittagong Hill tracts. Some of them live in Mymensingh, Rajshahi,, Bhola and Sylhet. They cultivate Jhum cultivation.
By religion they are Hindus, Christians and Bhuddhists. They speak in their own mother tongue. They have some common characteristic. They have their own lifestyles. They build their houses on bamboo or wooden platforms. Rice is their staple food. Hunting and fishing are their favourite pastimes.
They are fond of songs, music, dances, theatre and fair. Almost all tribal languages have rich folk literatures. Although, Bangladesh is a small country, but it has varieties peoples. We proud of her.
